The Minnesota Center Chorale is excited to announce its 2017-2018 season: Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow. As our 45th anniversary season, we pause to reflect on the Chorale’s founding and flourishing under its previous directors, and we will bring back some musical favorites performed in those earlier years. We also celebrate the beauty of the present as we sing under the baton of new Artistic Director, Lukas Perry, and we look ahead to the future of not only the MCC but also our ever-changing world.

The Wisdom of Old Turtle Saturday, May 12, 2018, 7:30 PM Paramount Theater St. Cloud, MN
Award-winning author Douglas Wood joins the Chorale in a musical retelling of Old Turtle, his bestselling children's book. Other musical selections celebrate nature and the coming of spring as we look hopefully into the future, reflecting on our roles as cohabitants of the earth.
Introducing the new Artistic Director, Lukas Perry
Lukas Perry is very excited to be joining the Minnesota Center Chorale as they begin their 45th Anniversary Season. Perry is a conductor, keyboardist, and music scholar. He recently earned his Master of Music in Choral Conducting and Master of Arts in Music Theory from the University of Minnesota. There, he conducted choral ensembles and taught music theory courses at all levels. Perry is currently the Director of Music and Liturgy at the historic Church of the Assumption in downtown St. Paul.
Perry has worked with the Minnesota Chorale and Oratorio Society of Minnesota in the preparation of major works such as Brahms’ Requiem, Verdi’s Requiem, Mendelssohn’s Elijah, and a program of “Great Opera Choruses.” During the summer of 2015, Perry received a Graduate Research Grant from the University of Minnesota to study and perform the choral music of Anton Bruckner in Passau, Germany. In March 2017, he was invited to present his research on Bruckner at the South-Central Society for Music Theory Conference in Memphis, TN.
