2009 Cabaret: Rose, Reindeer & Revelry
At this seasonal affair, you will enjoy a multi-course gourmet dinner along with the entertainment of the Chorale and special guests, the Bells of Bethlehem. Together they will perform Christmas music at St. John's University's beautifully decorated Great Hall. St. Cloud renowned pianist and teacher Paul Wirth has returned as emcee to bring holiday nostalgia and merriment to this year's program.
Program Details: Rose, Reindeer & Revelry revolves around sacred and secular themes of the holiday season. Selections with Rose in the title by Robert H. Young, Linda Spevacek, and Benjamin Britten are followed by festive songs of Reindeer & Revelry, such as "Christmas Jazz Trio" by Michele Wier and Richard Kountz's "The Sleigh". Also presented are John Rutter's "Angels Carol," and premieres of "The First Noel" by Roger Towler and "I Am So Glad Each Christmas Eve" by Keith Larson. The evening closes with the spirited gospel-style "Sing Noel" medley by David Hamilton.
