Concert Season 2016-2017
The theme of our 2016 -2017 Concert Season is "Sing Peace".
The theme for this year's season came about as a way to explore the message of peace in music; the peace needed in our homes, in our communities, in St. Cloud and the surrounding area.
In light of events that have taken place recently across our country and around the world, it is our hope that the messages in the music of these concerts will help singers and audience alike join together to express unity, peace and hope.
"We must see that peace represents a sweeter music, a cosmic melody, that is far superior to the discords of war." - Martin Luther King, Jr.

Peace One Day
Sun., November 13, 3pm
Calvary Community Church
with Cantabile Choristers
Music is a powerful medium for building bridges and connecting with each other. Music can also help hearts to heal and mend in times of uncertainty and conflict. At this concert, we explore the meaning of peace in our world, in our nation, in our cities and homes.
Sun., February 26, 3pm
with Youth Chorale of Central MN
Martin Luther King Jr. taught us how to step into each other's shoes and to be the peace that we want to see in our communities. This concert celebrates his legacy through Spirituals and arrangements of songs of peace we hold dear in our nation. Songs include "Hold Out Your Light" by Moses Hogan, "Ain't You Got a Right to the Tree of Life" by Caldwell & Ivory, "Freedom's Plow" by Rollo Dillworth", "MLK" by Bob Chilcott, "Steal Away" by Gwyneth Walker, and many more.
MCC is joined by the Youth Chorale of Central Minnesota Concert Choir and Con Brio choir, as well as soloist, André Heywood, director of the St. John's Boys' Choir.
This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Central MN Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
Thank you to concert sponsor, Julie Dehnel.
